As the head of a marshalling yard you must coordinate goods traffic by shunting locomotives and using the hump yards in the most efficient way.

Work your way up to bigger marshalling yards by correctly arranging all of the train traffic. But be careful, unpredictable events can always affect your progress, such as: Important standard orders that have to be completed immediately, problems with the wagons such as axle or fire damage, defects of railway tracks, and weather conditions that influence visibility.
